JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The only person of interest in the case of a missing Clay County woman made his first appearance in court on Wednesday morning.
Corey Binderim is being held on a $50,000 bond in the Duval County Jail on an unrelated forgery charge.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office said it is holding out hope that Susan Mauldin will be found alive.
The 65-year-old has not been seen since October and her close friends worry as the days drag on.
“We’re very sad. My daughter and I are very sad. We are trying not to cry a lot, but we do. We miss her; she was such a wonderful gal,” Patricia Richie said.
Police say Binderim was hired to remodel Mauldin’s bathroom, but she fired him and wanted her money back.
We found Binderim isn’t licensed to work as a contractor in Florida and neighbors say Mauldin had planned to meet with Binderim before she disappeared to get her money back.
Police say her car is still in her garage and it did not appear she had plans to leave.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office said it spoke to Binderim since he has been in the custody of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, but CCSO would not go into the details of that conversation.
