JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A popular restaurant in the St. Johns Town Center topped the Restaurant Report after it was visited by health inspectors.
Action News Jax visited P.F. Chang’s at the St. John’s Town Center Mall after it was cited by health inspectors. A health inspector cited the restaurant for an employee working with raw chicken, then working with peppers without washing hands. Inspectors also spotted in-use utensils stored in unclean water and no expiration date on lettuce wraps and sushi rice.
A manager directed Action News Jax to speak with corporate media relations. Anchor Romney Smith received a statement:
"Cleanliness and food safety are a top priority at P.F. Chang's. The issues noted in the recent inspection of our Jacksonville restaurant were immediately corrected." - P.F. Chang's
A follow-up inspection was required.
At the Taste of Jamaica Caribbean restaurant in St. Augustine, an inspector found one live roach, issued a stop sale on macaroni and cheese for temperature issues and saw two employees use the restroom, then return to work without washing their hands. A follow-up inspection is required.
Inspectors visited the Wok N Roll on Monument Road and noted eight high-priority violations. The violations included egg drop soup held too cold, fried shrimp rolls kept in non-food grade containers and raw chicken and beef not properly separated in the freezer. Wok N Roll needed a follow-up inspection.
