JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Our First Alert Traffic Anchor, KaJéza Hawkins, has tracked heavy traffic on I-295 East in the Oceanway area Monday morning after police closed the ramp to Pulaski Road.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office confirmed officers closed the ramp and were in force through Eastport Road while searching for a suspect who fled from a traffic stop.
JSO said the driver fled on foot around 5:30 a.m. and deputies took the suspect into custody at approximately 8:15 a.m.
As of 8:45 a.m., heavy traffic persists and the ramp to Pulaski Road remains closed.
No information regarding the suspect has been made available at this time. Action News Jax is working to find out more.
