JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Action News is uncovering new information about the mysterious killing of a local grandmother.
Family members told us Marla Henderson is the woman who was found shot dead in her Northside home.
At this point, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office isn’t saying much, but we’re learning more from the victim’s family.
There are still many unanswered questions. The biggest: who pulled the trigger.
Cop cars and crime tape along the street still indicated a murder scene off Ribault Terrace late Thursday night.
Inside a Northside house, JSO officers said they found the body of a woman shot to death after her worried family called deputies to check up on her.
“At this point, we’re going to treat it like a murder until we find out something different,” said JSO Sgt. Michael Paul.

Since we broke this story online, we found out the victim’s name is Marla Henderson.
Her family said she was a mother and grandmother.
“I just feel like Miss Marla was a great person. Someone needs to come forward with the answers, what's going, on who did it or what happened,” said Danielle Paschal, who has known Henderson her entire life.
Henderson lived with two roommates and her family said JSO is interviewing them right now, but police say neither is a suspect.
Still, the news of Henderson’s death is hitting hard for her family and friends, who stopped by the scene Thursday night.
Tierra George spoke to her grandmother over the phone just the other day and fought to hold back the tears.
“My mama picked me up from school and told me,” George said.
Investigators will work through the night to find out what happened inside the home off Ribault.
Family said Henderson has two sons in prison. We asked a family member if there may be a connection or some sort of message being sent, and were told there’s no connection.
