JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating after one man was shot dead and two other men sustained gunshot wounds near Odessa and Franklin streets on Thursday afternoon.
Police responded around 1:40 p.m. and found 19-year-old Avery McKnight shot dead on the front porch of a home, JSO Sgt. Dan Janson said.

The two men who were injured, ages 20 and 41, were taken to UF Health Jacksonville, one by rescue transport and another was dropped off.
Janson said two male suspects started shooting, left on foot and may have fled in a dark car, possibly a black Toyota Camry. It has not yet been determined whether any fire was returned by the victims.
A blood trail was found in the back of the house, but Janson said investigators do not yet know who the blood belongs to.
Police are talking to witnesses in the neighborhood and the investigation is ongoing.
