Police: Man with gun robs crowded Jacksonville Wells Fargo

Jacksonville officers are searching for a man who robbed a crowded Wells Fargo Monday morning.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office was called to the Wells Fargo at at 4328 Blanding Boulevard after reports of an armed robbery.

Action News Jax reporter Bridgette Matter spoke with JSO Lt. Jennifer Short, who said a man waited in line before demanding money from a teller.

He approached the teller window and told the teller to look him in the eye, according to Short.

The suspect then lifted his shirt, revealing a handgun in his waistband, and told the teller to give him money, Short said.

Short describe the suspect as approximately five feet, nine inches tall, and appears to be in his 30's.

According to Short, there were 14 other people in the bank during the robbery. They were unaware of what was happening, she said.

The police were notified by an alarm the tellers used.

According to tellers, the suspect left the bank and got into a car.
