Police: Putnam County gunman on the run following fatal shooting

STARKE, Fla. — A Putnam County man is dead and police are searching for the 20-year-old suspect believed to be responsible.

According to the Starke Police Department, around 9:30 p.m. Friday, officers responded to E. Brownlee St. where a Black man was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim, who was in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

SPD says the gunman was identified as Ted’Qwon Lee McGowan. He is wanted for first-degree murder and grand theft of a motor vehicle.

He is believed to be driving a blue Chevrolet Camaro with Florida tag number 6768YR.

“...This senseless and depraved act of violence was caused by an individual that had no regard for human life,” SPD wrote in a statement on Facebook.

Anyone who sees McGowan is asked to call 911 immediately.
