JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Police are asking for your help in locating a bike-riding shooting suspect on the Westside
JSO released new footage of the suspect they say shot a Jacksonville Heights man while riding a bicycle. Investigators released new footage of the suspect tonight.
At last word that victim was in life threatening condition. We’re asking JSO if that is still the case. Jacksonville Heights father Justin Stewart tells Action News Jax one of his children heard the gunshots.
"Just three quick pop, pop, pop, shots," said Stewart.
He said many neighborhood children play outside in the evenings, including his own.
"I was dumbfounded because at the time of the shooting my wife and kids were out here in the yard playing," said Stewart.
The footage released by JSO shows a man on a bike riding around the neighborhood. In Saturday’s initial briefing with police, JSO said they did not have suspect information.
"I’ve got young children that play out in the yard and it’s just," said Stewart. "It’s a nightmare actually."
In the footage you see multiple angles of a someone riding a bicycle through the Westside neighborhood.
"It’s sad that you got a put up with stuff like this happening this close to your home," said Stewart.
Stewart tells Action News Jax he's thinking twice about letting his kids play outdoors.
"You know it probably wouldn’t hurt to see a little more patrol in the area," he said.
JSO is asking for your help tonight. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact JSO directly or call Crime Stoppers.
