ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — National media and marketing company America’s Best Restaurants will visit Poppys Italiano in Ponte Vedra Beach on Nov. 20 as part of its ongoing ABR Roadshow. The production crew will be on-site from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time to highlight the independent eatery on-camera. Members of the press and the general public are invited to attend the event at the restaurant.
Headquartered in Florence, Ky., America’s Best Restaurants travels across the United States telling the stories of locally owned, independent dining establishments. The company has produced more than 2,000 episodes highlighting independent restaurants across its digital media network.
Poppys Italiano has operated for more than 25 years in the Jacksonville and St. Augustine area. Husband and wife team Loros “Poppy” and Nicole Yousefzadeh founded the business based on family recipes, traditions and shared meals. As the family expanded over the years, the founders’ children joined the staff to work alongside their parents in daily operations.
Yousefzadeh emphasized the close relationships the family has established with neighborhood residents over the past quarter-century. “At Poppys, you’re not just a customer - you’re family,” Yousefzadeh said. The owners noted that the restaurant has hosted generations of patrons, serving local families while celebrating milestones and special occasions together.
The family has continued operating the business together through various challenges over the years to maintain the traditions established at its founding. The owners expressed appreciation for the continued support from the surrounding Jacksonville and Palm Valley communities as they continue to serve local diners.
The restaurant’s menu features a variety of Italian dishes, including both classic recipes and original house creations. Featured menu items include Grouper Francese, which consists of lightly battered grouper served in a lemon butter and white wine sauce and Chicken Scarparella, which incorporates a balance of zest and spice. The menu also includes the signature Poppys Tortellini, an original creation developed by the restaurant.
Poppys Italiano is located at 832 A1A North, Suite 1, in Ponte Vedra Beach. The restaurant serves patrons in the Ponte Vedra Beach, Palm Valley and St. Augustine communities and additional information regarding the establishment is available through its website.
Following the on-site filming, the finished episode will be distributed across digital channels. The official premiere date will be announced on the Poppys Italiano Facebook page, with the full segment slated to appear on the America’s Best Restaurants website, YouTube channel and social media accounts.
