CORAL GABLES, Fla. — Miami police have positively identified remains found near a marina in South Florida as 26-year-old Lauren Jenee Lamar.
Lamar was the focus of a two-day rescue effort. She disappeared while boating with two other people in Biscayne Bay Sunday night.
Police questioned a man and woman who were on the boat with Lamar. They said they did not realize she had fallen out of the boat.
A photographer located a body near Matheson Hammocks Park and Marina early Tuesday morning. Police identified the remains as Lamar's just after 10 p.m. Tuesday night.
Action News spoke with Lamar's family who said police did tell them that a body had been recovered. Lamar's mother says she lived in Jacksonville.
No charges have been filed in the case.
