In this season of gift giving, you still have a chance to give back.
Chances are, you have an empty Amazon box or two lying around the house; now you can re-use those boxes to send donations to Goodwill for free.
Plenty of people have items they don’t need anymore lying around the house, but it can be hard to find time to bring it to a Goodwill drop-off location.
Jacksonville officers warn people to break down, conceal boxes of high-price gifts
That’s why Amazon is partnering with Give Back Box to make donating easier.
You take the merchandise you ordered on Amazon out of the box, then put the items you want to donate into the box. Then you order and print your free shipping label here: http://www.givebackbox.com/printLabel.
One big distinction: your donation won’t go to the Northeast Florida Goodwill locations.
If you print a label, you’ll see it’s addressed to Tallahassee.
Darrell Phelps, who used his post-Christmas day off to drop off some donations at the Goodwill on Beach Boulevard, said donating locally is important to him.
“Because you see it here in Jacksonville, the need, you know? And so hopefully by donating locally here, it actually goes to the people here that are local. Because we’re here to make Jacksonville better,” said Phelps.
You can get a tax-deductible receipt for your donation after you order a shipping label.
