JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Rims, vehicles and even a BBQ smoker was sold at the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office auction at Everbank Field on Thursday.
The auction raises money for the Sheriff’s Office.
“I’m here to try and bid on a vehicle for my daughter” said bidder, Jim Snowden.
JSO said many of the vehicles were seized during drug busts or robberies. A person attempted to sell a BBQ smoker with the vin number removed, which is illegal.
“These vehicles are a culmination of seizures the Sheriff’s Office does throughout the years, essentially anyone who commits a felony,” said JSO Christian Hancock.
JSO said it can only use the money for equipment and training.
