Taylor Williams: Search for missing person in Alabama area where girl's mother previously lived

DEMOPOLIS, Ala. — Police in Jacksonville, Florida have expanded their search efforts for a local missing girl to include Georgia and Alabama.

On Tuesday afternoon, the Demopolis Police Department announced that human remains were found in the search for missing Jacksonville 5-year-old Taylor Rose Williams.

The girl was reported missing by her mother, Brianna Williams, on Wednesday morning, after she said she last saw her daughter in her bedroom at their Jacksonville home.

Brianna Williams, a Petty Officer 1st Class at NAS Jacksonville, is from Alabama. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said in a news conference last week they are working with investigators in Alabama because Brianna has family there.

Brianna Williams is also not cooperating with police in the investigation and is now considered a person of interest in her daughter's disapperance, the Sheriff's Office said.

The Demopolis Police Department said Sunday afternoon it is assisting the FBI and other out-of-state agencies in a search for a missing person around the Demopolis area.

Demopolis is about 16 miles north of where Brianna previously lived.
