A Palm Coast man remained in Flagler County jail Friday morning on $311,000 bond on multiple felony charges including aggravated stalking of a woman he met on a dating app.
The victim told deputies that after she tried to break contact with the suspect, Justin Fountain, 31, he began showing up at her job without warning or an invitation, a sheriff’s office news release states.
She asked him to stop, but he then showed up at a hotel she was staying in, the sheriff said adding that Fountain used GPS to track her. Fountain then followed her to a fast food restaurant and attempted to talk to her and, “she told Fountain to leave her alone,” the news release states.
The suspect then started texting threats to her ordering her to stop contacting law enforcement. Investigators said Fountain sent the following threats to the victim: “You need to answer my calls if you know what’s good for you” and “I’m going to destroy you,” the news release states.
The victim also told deputies that while she never gave Fountain access to her social media accounts, he somehow gained access to them. He also texted the woman telling her that he stole the teddy bear that contained her son’s ashes and that he would “burn it” if she continued to ignore him, the news release states.
Deputies located Fountain Saturday on Interstate 95 and initiated a traffic stop. During a search of his vehicle, deputies found the teddy bear containing the victim’s son’s ashes, the news release states.
According to jail records, along with felony aggravated stalking, Fountain is also facing five other felony charges including:
- Accessing computer/electronic device without authority
- Installing/using tracking devices/apps without consent
- Witness tampering
- Malicious threatening injury to another person
- Grand theft of property
