The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office is searching for a man accused of shooting his wife and a family friend in the MuraBella subdivision Thursday.

Deputies are searching for James Colley, who is 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 220 pounds. He has brown hair, blue eyes and a goatee.

Sheriff David Shoar said that Colley killed his wife and a family friend. Deputies have identified them as 36-year-old Amanda (Cloaninger) Colley, Colley's wife, and 39-year-old Lindy Dobbins. They were in a house at Murabella at the time of the shooting.

Colley's wife also went by the name Amanda Cloaninger Colley. Deputies said both Cloaninger Colley and Dobbins died from apparent gunshot wounds.

Three schools were on lockdown while deputies searched for Colley. One of Colley's children attends one of the nearby schools that was on lockdown.

Colley was in court Thursday for a violation of injunction and was ordered to surrender his weapons.

Colley was last seen wearing black slacks and a white button-down shirt, which may have blood on it, said SJCSO.

The school district said Wards Creek Elementary School, Mill Creek Elementary and Pacetti Bay Middle School were on a hard lock down while police searched for Colley.

Pacetti Bay Middle School's lockdown was lifted shortly before 2:20 p.m. Students got on their buses around 2:25 p.m., about 20 minutes later than usual.

The lockdown for Wards Creek Elementary School and Mill Creek Elementary was lifted around 3:30 p.m.

A hard lockdown is when no one is allowed in or out of the building.

Deputies also went to search for James Colley at a home in the 1100 block of Garrison Drive, where he had been living, but Colley was not there.

Cloaninger Colley worked at Fanatics. They released a statement to Action News Jax about the incident:

"The entire Fanatics family is shocked and saddened by the tragic news we received today. We still don't have all the details, but are doing everything we can to help authorities with the investigation. Our deepest condolences and prayers go out to Amanda's family and friends and everyone affected by this horrific tragedy. Amanda was an integral part of the company – a true professional who loved her job and whose passion was infectious. Amanda's impact on our company went well beyond her work as her friendly personality and loving attitude brought joy to our team each and every day. Words cannot express the heartbreak we feel and the entire Fanatics organization mourns Amanda's loss."

Citi confirmed to Action News that James Colley was an employee there. A representative said they're deeply saddened by this tragedy and their thoughts and prayers are with the families.

Deputies said Colley could be driving a maroon Infiniti G36 with license plate "Beat 58."

Colley is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about Colley's location is asked to call 911.
