DUVAL COUNTY, Fla. — The Southbank Riverwalk opened Thursday afternoon.
A ribbon cutting ceremony was held at noon at Friendship Fountain.
Back in March, Action News reported there wasn't enough money in the budget to re-build the entire stretch from Friendship Fountain to the Southbank. The contractor then demanded that the city pick up the bill.
After some delays, the money was approved, and the area is now open to the public.
