St. Johns County deputies surround pond to catch suspect in canoe

The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office posted to Facebook on Wednesday that after responding to a report of a stolen vehicle, deputies followed the suspect into a field.

According to SCSO, the suspect then fled to a pond and entered a canoe that he used to further flee from the deputies.

Deputies then told the suspect that the "pond was surrounded" and that a boat was on its way to get him, according to the post.

The suspect made his way to shore where he was taken into custody, according to SCSO.
