St. Johns County Fire Rescue responded to a large fire with possibility of children trapped

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — St. Johns County Fire Rescue responded to a second fire alarm in 2100 Water Plant Road.

Initial calls received to 911 reported that a shed was on fire.

When responding units arrived on the scene, the fire extended between a mobile home and a travel trailer.

Firefighters were notified of the possibility of children trapped in the travel trailer and they began search operations. During the search firefighters discovered the children were already out of the structures with no injuries.

A rapid attack of the fire with multiple hand lines brought it under control and extinguished it. The only injuries that were reported were that one firefighter received minor injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the State Fire Marshals office.
