St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office reports missing St. Augustine woman found deceased

ST. JOHNS, Fla. — Update: The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office has reported that Mary Ann Burchill has been discovered deceased.

Mary Ann was reported missing from the area of Vail Point Road in St. Augustine on Wednesday, May 24.

On May 29, deputies were summoned to a Pinta Road Address where a deceased body was discovered in the woodline behind a residence. After a follow-up investigation in collaboration with the District 23 Medical Examiner’s Office, positive identification was made.

There are no signs of foul play and there is no threat to the community.

Original: The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office is currently on the lookout for Mary Ann Burchill, who has been reported missing since Wednesday, May 24, 2023. Authorities are urging residents to remain vigilant and assist in locating the whereabouts of the missing woman.

Mary Ann Burchill, age 76, was last seen near Vail Point Road in St. Augustine.

She was last observed wearing a flannel shirt with a white undershirt, shorts, white socks, and white shoes.

As the investigation unfolds, law enforcement officials have confirmed that this is not a scam and have issued an emergency alert to residents in the area.

Authorities are urging anyone who has any information regarding Mary Ann Burchill’s location or has had recent contact with her to reach out to their nearest local law enforcement agency immediately. In case of an emergency, citizens are advised to dial 911. The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office can also be contacted at 904-824-8304.
