JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A fatal crash has occurred in St. Johns County along I-95 southbound near mile marker 328.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a pickup truck was traveling down I-95 southbound when it moved from the left lane across the center lane and into the right lane.
The driver, an adult male, lost control of the vehicle and veered back to the left lane and off the roadway onto the median.
The vehicle struck a guardrail and, as a result, overturned while the driver was ejected from his seat.
The driver was pronounced dead on the scene. An additional passenger was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
I-95 southbound lanes were closed for an extended amount of time but the crash has now been cleared.
