ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — A 37-year-old woman is dead after being hit by a semi on I-95, north of State Road 16 Monday night, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
FHP says the woman was driving her motorcycle in the left lane of I-95 northbound. A Freightliner semi was also traveling on I-95 northbound in the center lane.
Troopers say for unknown reasons the motorcyclist traveled in the path of the semi. The front of the semi hit the motorcyclist.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 55-year-old man driving the semi had no injuries.
FHP says this is an ongoing investigation, the woman has not been identified.
