Action News Jax confirmed with neighbors the officer lives about 6 miles away from the apartment complex.
A neighbor and a mailman told Action News Jax they noticed the patrol car backed into a parking spot, but didn't think anything of it. Both said they believed an officer had moved into the complex.
Two guns are still missing from the officer's home.
Action News Jax requested JSO's policy on officers taking patrol cars home and gun storage protocol. We're still waiting on a response.
