JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A Jacksonville puppy store owner is asking for help after he said thieves stole a Siberian husky worth $1,000.
The theft happened at Puppy Avenue at the Avenues Mall.
Surveillance video shows a man walk in, grab the dog from a pen and walk out of the store, with help from two women.
“I could only watch it one time, it really upset me,” said Puppy Avenue owner Doug Bame.
Bame said several cameras caught the thieves in the act.
Video shows a man wearing sunglasses appearing to carry the dog toward the front of the store.
A woman who appears to be his accomplice quickly glances to the side and blocks an employee’s view while the man with the puppy walks out. A third woman appears to join them as they leave.
Bame said the puppy is worth more than $1,000.
Bame said his biggest worry is the puppy’s safety.
Bame is leaving its pen empty, which he said is a sign of hope that the dog will be returned and thieves caught.
Anyone with information about the theft is asked to contact the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office 904-630-0500 or Crime Stoppers at 866-845-TIPS.
