Suspect in Clay County chase at speeds up to 100 mph charged with multiple felonies

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. — The suspect who was arrested following a pursuit through Clay County, during which he’s accused of trying to ram a deputy’s cruiser, is facing multiple felony charges.

The driver was traveling at speeds of 100 mph at times during Monday’s series of events that started with an attempted traffic stop on Blanding Boulevard.

According to an arrest report, 20-year-old Ayrmon Wilson of Jacksonville attempted to ram a deputy’s vehicle during the traffic stop.

During the pursuit, the suspect crashed into two vehicles on U.S. 17 (Park Avenue) near the Doctors Lake Bridge. No injuries were reported from either crash.

The suspect ran near Kingsley and Park avenues. He was taken into custody near the Orange Park Police Department. During a search of the vehicle, a K-9 discovered drugs. Wilson is charged with aggravated assault, fleeing and eluding, marijuana possession and having an unlicensed firearm.

The deputy whose vehicle was nearly rammed was reported to be OK, according to a spokesperson for the Clay County Sheriff’s Office.
