Target providing week long discount for teachers heading back to the classroom

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Target is offering a 15% discount for teachers to help cover the cost of back-to-school classroom supplies.

The weeklong discount is for select items starting July13 and running through July 20.

Target is working with SheerID to verify eligibility.

The discount is available in stores and online, and is available for K-12 teachers.

Target said it will also offer savings for teachers working at day care centers, and early childhood learning centers, as well as to home schooling parents and teachers.

"We can take any document that ties your name and/or email address to an educational system" for verification, Target says in it's frequently asked questions sections. "Eligible guests who are not able to validate online can visit their local Target store and present their ID to the cashier for assistance."

Those looking to take advantage of the discount will need to submit a school ID card, letter of employment letterhead, current pay stub and official documents.

For teachers able to verify the information online, the coupon will be emailed, according to email.
