Three Blanding Boulevard cross streets make it into the top four on the list.

JSO spends a good amount of time at Youngerman Circle for a bad reason.

“It’s always so much traffic. People are cutting people off and it’s just ridiculous, and it’s just always like crashes,” Jacksonville resident Latoya Calhoun said.

Calhoun said she’s always paying extra attention when she’s driving on Blanding Boulevard.

The intersection of Blanding and Youngerman Circle has claimed a “not-so-good” title in Duval County for back-to-back years.

In 2020, JSO responded to the intersection 113 times and in 2021, JSO responded 135 times.

“I’m not shocked at all. I think that’s about right. I’m surprised that that’s the number they have, I thought it’d be more,” Calhoun said.

However, it isn’t only crashes that are concerning residents, but also hit-and-runs.

According to JSO, officers responded to 83 hit-and-run crashes since 2020.

Just last Sunday, FHP responded to a hit-and-run along Blanding Boulevard farther down south.

Drivers like Calhoun said that number is only going to go down if people keep their eyes on the road.

Other agencies like the Clay County Sheriff’s Office and Florida Highway Patrol respond to crashes along Blanding Boulevard.

We are waiting on crash numbers from those agencies.
