JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — According to a recently released Florida Highway Patrol accident report, a deadly crash took place on U.S. Highway 1 and Baymeadows Way on Friday morning.

The report states that on Jan. 6 at around 8:50 a.m., a white sports utility vehicle was traveling north on US1. That SUV attempted to make a left-hand turn into a business parking lot when it was struck by a tractor trailer.
A 77-year-old woman passenger traveling in the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene. The 79-year-old man driving was transported to local hospital in critical condition.
FHP says that the driver of the tractor trailer was also transported to the hospital but with non-life-threatening injuries.

All those involved in the accident were wearing their seatbelts.
