Tree falls onto an Orange Park home, forces family into hotel

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A strong line of storms pushed through the Jacksonville area on Sunday and one Orange Park family is staying in a hotel because of them.

Around 2:30 p.m. strong wind gusts and heavy rain caused a large tree to fall onto a home on Marquois Drive just off Moody Avenue.

The residents of the home have relocated to a hotel for the night and no one was injured inside the home.
The family said the tree will stay where it is until they can arrange for its removal through an insurance company.
The EMA is encouraging everyone to look closely at the trees around your homes, especially during this storm season when showers can pop up every day.
