A vehicle carrying asphalt on Philips Highway overturned Saturday afternoon.
A truck was traveling south on Philips Highway when, for unknown reasons, the driver veered into the shoulder and flipped the truck into a northbound lane about one quarter of a mile south of JTB.
Witnesses of the accident stopped their vehicles and rushed to help the driver of the truck.
Two of those witnesses were able to help pull the driver out of the vehicle through the rear windshield before EMT’s arrived on the scene.
The truck was the only vehicle involved in the crash.
The driver of the vehicle was transported to UF Health with minor injuries.
