St. Augustine men accused of stealing money from wishing well

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Two men face burglary charges after St. Augustine Police caught them attempting to steal money from a wishing well.

According to police, they were called to the Oldest School House at 3:40 a.m. Monday morning, after someone reported a burglary in progress.

When police arrived an employee said the alarm went off and there was activity in the courtyard.

Police found the two men, Nicholas Helsel and Joseph McDade inside of the locked fence area taking money from the well.

As officers approached them, One man was found trying to hide, the other was near the gate.

Both men were arrested and charged with Burglary to an unoccupied dwelling.
