JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The University of North Florida physics and astronomy program is hosting a free public viewing of a nearly total lunar eclipse this Thursday, Aug. 27.
The event will take place from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. on the top floor of the UNF Arena Parking Garage, Building 38, on the university campus in Jacksonville. Attendees will be able to watch the moon slowly turn red through telescopes.
The viewing is part of the monthly UNF Astronomy Nights series, which provides free astronomy programming open to the public.
