JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The community came together Thursday night for a vigil for Marquisha Philips and Sharnice Wilson.
Both women were shot and killed last Sunday on Chestnut Drive.
Prayer started off Thursday night’s vigil for Wilson and Philips, two mothers taken from their families by gunfire.
Wilson’s 2-year-old daughter, who came to the vigil Thursday, was also grazed by a bullet but is doing better.
Action News spoke with Wilson’s mother and sister, who are praying for answers.
“I pray every night that someone will come and at least give my family a little bit of closure,” said Laviesha Carroll, Wilson’s sister.

The families of both Philips and Wilson lit candles and released balloons in their memory.
Wilson's mother said she never thought she would have to bury her daughter, especially under these circumstances.
“The violence needs to stop and it starts at home,” said Ursula Johnson-Early, Wilson’s mother.
Johnson-Early said she’s taking care of the young kids left behind.
Two Jacksonville salons are accepting donations of clothing for Wilson’s young children. The family is asking for clothing for a boy (3T-4T) and clothing for a girl (12 months, 2T & 3T).
The clothing donations can be dropped off at EllePaush House of Style located at 1766 University Blvd South and Beauty Bar Studio located at 5641 Beach Blvd.
