Waycross fugitives arrested in North Carolina in connection to Ware Co. murder

LUMBERTON, N.C. — The Robeson County Sheriff’s Office said Cody Rienks and Kelly Hill of Waycross were arrested in North Carolina by deputies and U.S. Marshals in connection with a murder that happened in Waycross on April 22, 2020. They were both charged with being a fugitive of justice and are being held without bond in Robeson County.

RCSO said Rienks used to live in Lumberton, N.C., which is in Robeson County.

Police said the pair fled Waycross in the murder victim’s car, which was recovered during the arrest.

The murder is being investigated by the Ware County Sheriff’s Office and Rienks and Hill will be extradited back to Ga.
