Deputies are looking for the man responsible for a scary moment inside a St. Johns County Dunkin’ Donuts.
A robbery happened Tuesday night around 9 p.m. at the store. Celin Sunny said she was at the counter of the store on County Road 210 West when the man walked in.
“This guy walks in and he takes out the gun. I just moved to the side there. I didn’t know what was happening, it was so sudden. Then he points the gun at the girl and I just froze there,” Sunny said.
She said the man made everyone move away from the counter and then demanded the register drawer while holding the cashier at gunpoint.
According to the incident report, the man ran from the store and was seen speeding out of the area in a silver or white Volkswagen headed toward Interstate 95
“I was stunned,” said Sunny.

She's concerned that this type of crime happened so close to her home, and so are others in the area. Action News Jax law and safety expert Dale Carson explains that businesses near major highways are more susceptible to this type of crime. He says this could explain the armed robbery at Dunkin' Donuts and the one right down the road at a tree lot off I-95 last week.
Regardless of the reason, Sunny said she doesn’t want this activity in her area.
“I’m grateful that nobody got hurt and that just how lucky I was to be out of that situation safely and my kids were out of that situation safely,” she tells Action News Jax.
Deputies are still searching for the man in last night’s robbery. According to the incident report, he’s 6 feet tall and was wearing black sweats, a white long-sleeved shirt and a ski mask.
