Jacksonville, Fla. — Heather Demeritt, who lives in Jacksonville, touched down Tuesday afternoon at Huguenot Memorial Park after 16 days of paddling.
She even hit a personal record of paddling 29 miles in a single day! Now, Demeritt is calling on others to push their own boundaries.

“We can either live our lives or exist in our lives, and this was a live in my life and I hope it inspires somebody else to live in their life as well,” she said.
Her 3.5 week journey started as a personal goal, but Demerrit also wants people to help pick up their trash so it doesn’t end up in our waterways. So what comes next? Well, Demerrit says she wants to be back out kayaking as soon as this weekend!
