ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — The body that was found along A1A Sunday morning has been identified.
The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office identified the woman as 24-year-old Brianna Jane Gibson from Middleburg.
Detectives learned that the victim and her boyfriend had left the victim’s family home earlier that evening, and neither the victim, the victim’s vehicle or partner had been seen since. Investigators found Gibson’s car in an apartment complex - some distance away from the boyfriend’s place of residence.
Family members of the boyfriend later contacted the Clay County Sheriff’s Office and stated the subject wished to turn himself in regarding an outstanding and unrelated warrant. The boyfriend has been interviewed and has been cooperating with police regarding Gibson.
Detectives are continuing to seek any information regarding the whereabouts of Gibson and her vehicle since 10:00 P.M., Saturday evening until early Sunday morning. The vehicle is known to have been in Duval, St. Johns and Clay County’s during this time frame.
