Woman searches for "guardian angels" who waved her down when her car caught fire

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Edythe Milton and her husband were driving down Argyle Forest Boulevard when they noticed smoke coming from the front of their car.

The couple kept driving because they said the smoke didn't look that serious. That's when two women drove by them waving their arms yelling for them to get out of the car because it was on fire.

“We were in a 2012 Buick LaCrosse (that) had 9,000 miles on it, (so it was) relatively new,” Milton said.
Pictures are all they have left of their car, which was destroyed in the fire.
“My husband said, ‘Honey, we got a problem,’” Milton said, noting everything happened quickly. “By the time we got out, the engine blew four times. I could see the flames.”
It was the flames, she said, that prompted two strangers to pull over and help.
“They were driving a red pickup truck. There were two ladies, very, very nice ladies,” Milton said.
That is all she knows of the two women she calls her guardian angels. Milton is looking for help to in finding them. She wants to thank them personally for saving her life.
"I (would) like to thank them for stopping. If they hadn’t followed us, we wouldn't have got out as fast,” Milton said. “I would give them a big hug and kiss and say thank you so much for saving our lives.”
The couple said they reached out to Buick. The auotmaker said there is no recall on the car at this time. The Miltons’ insurance company is trying to get them a new vehicle.
