Jacksonville, Fl — A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket successfully launched from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center at 5:42 am Friday. It is a record-tying 12th space mission for this Falcon 9 first stage. It ties a company reuse record.
The vehicle is set to fly again if all goes according to plan.
The two-stage Falcon 9 was topped with 53 of SpaceX’s Starlink internet satellites.
Action News Jax Meteorologist Garrett Bedenbaugh explains that an expanding exhaust plume hit the sunrays over the eastern horizon, which illuminated the plume.
