JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Officers are watching for potential danger in Grand Park after 16-year-old Devron Crowden was shot and killed at his bus stop Wednesday morning.
Crowden’s killers are still on the run.
Some people in Northwest Jax say it’s going to take more than a police investigation to cut the violence.
Janice Johnson’s child attends Raines High School. Crowden was her classmate.
“She didn’t sleep well at all last night…we had a rough time,” Johnson said.
Latrelle Wilder has a 16-year-old son who also attends Raines High School. She stays in constant prayer for him.
“I’m constantly telling them that times are different. It’s sad that your kids can’t do like we used to do…walk to the corner store…”
A JSO detective told Action News that investigators are having a hard time getting people to talk about the case, and that is making it hard to catch Crowden’s killers.
