A social media thread questioning "confusing" lane markings on J.T. Butler Blvd. was posted on the official Jacksonville Reddit page.
STORY: Shirtless, shoeless man seen on I-95 driving Harley with feet
As anyone who drives in Jacksonville knows, road construction is part of everyday life.
A Redditor asked, "Does anyone become briefly confused when following your lane on Butler?"
Many of the comments expressed concerns that the old lane markings are confusing when it rains -- or when the sun is in the driver's face.
Some of the comments:
"That concrete pavement (as opposed to asphalt) is rough to see white paint on when it’s wet."
"When I'm coming home from work at night in the rain, it's very hard to see where the lane is -- even for someone who drives that exact route three times a week and has perfect vision."

"I find it difficult around 4:30-6 p.m. when it’s sunny. I take that every day for work so I know it’s coming but there’s always at least one car that’s confused and is half in one lane half in the other."
"When the sun hits it at the right angle, all you can see are the black rough spots and not the white paint."
Part of the thread launched into a discussion whether drivers could use hazard lights in the rain to give your car better visibility, but that practice in illegal in Florida. (Here's a good explainer why it's illegal in Florida to drive with hazard lights on).
