PORTAL, N.D. — U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers seized nearly two tons of marijuana in a commercial shipment at the Portal, North Dakota Port of Entry on Thursday.
All told, officers discovered 3,765 pounds of pot in the shipment manifested as plastic containers, the agency stated in a news release.
“This interdiction keeps narcotics from entering the United States and reinforces the important border security mission CBP officers have in keeping our country and communities safe. The teamwork involved in this seizure was outstanding,” Portal Port Director James Rector stated.
The marijuana has an estimated value of more than $6 million.
