MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — An Ohio man attempting to execute a handstand from the 15th floor of a Myrtle Beach hotel died when he fell from the balcony, authorities said.
Markell D. Hope, 34, of Akron, fell from the balcony at the Patricia Grand Hotel at about 3:30 p.m. EDT during Hurricane Ian, WMBF-TV reported.
According to Horry County Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard, Hope was pronounced dead at the scene due to his injuries, the television station reported.

The death has been considered accidental, according to WBTW-TV. It is unclear whether the hurricane, which hit the South Carolina coast as a Category 1 storm, contributed to Hope’s fall.
The Myrtle Beach Police Department is investigating the incident, the television station reported.
No other information was immediately available.
