HIBBING, Minn. — One of two 3-year-old boys who were found unresponsive inside a hot car in Minnesota has died, authorities said Wednesday.
The boy, from Hibbing, died in a Minneapolis hospital, the Duluth News-Tribune reported.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office will perform an autopsy on the boy who died, the newspaper reported.

Officials said that the other boy was released from a Duluth hospital, KARE-TV reported.
Possible charges against the boys’ father have been sent to the St. Louis County Attorney’s Office for review, according to the Star-Tribune of Minneapolis.
Hibbing Police Chief Steve Estey said the boys were in the care of their father when they were reported missing, WCCO reported.

According to Hibbing police, the boys were missing about 5:30 p.m. CDT Monday, according to KMSP and KARE. The boys were discovered unresponsive in their father’s truck about 90 minutes later near the home they were reported missing from, according to KARE.

The temperature in Hibbing when the boys were discovered was 85 degrees, but the inside of the vehicle could have reached at least 130 degrees, according to the Star-Tribune.
