Woman accused of assaulting husband at SC airport after finding ‘indecent photos’

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. — A woman is accused of assaulting her husband at a South Carolina airport on Wednesday after finding “indecent photos” in her husband’s telephone, authorities said.

Paul M. Barbour, 55, was charged with one count of third-degree domestic violence, according to Charleston County online booking records.

According to the Charleston County Aviation Authority, police at Charleston International Airport responded to “an active domestic” incident at 2:50 p.m. EST, WCSC-TV reported.

Barbour allegedly told authorities that she and her husband had flown to South Carolina for a vacation, according to the television station. According to an incident report, the woman allegedly told police that she saw several indecent photographs on her husband’s cellphone, which led to an argument, WCSC reported.

“The suspect stated that she just wanted to get away from the victim and fly back home,” the incident report states.

It was unclear where Barbour and her husband live.

The victim denied that Barbour kicked him, but surveillance video showed the suspect kicking him twice in the legs, throwing his cellphone and attempting to strike him in the face, according to WCSC.

Barbour later admitted to hitting her husband and was arrested at 6:15 p.m. EST, online records show. She was released on Thursday at 3:06 p.m. EST after posting bail of $5,237, according to online records.

Barbour is expected to appear in court on Feb. 15, 2023, online records show.
