Crews responded to Sterling Pointe Drive around 2 p.m. Witnesses said they saw the coworker standing on the roof of a housing working on the framing when a lightning bolt struck him, causing him to fall to the concrete below, according to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office.
The man, later identified as 24-year-old Edvin J. Velasquez Cinto, was transported to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
