Fans of "Empire" can expect to see many notable guest stars in the show's third season.
Here's a rundown of the stars who will appear and where they'll fit into the Lyon kingdom.
1. Phylicia Rashad
Rashad, everyone’s favorite TV mom from "The Cosby Show," will play a mother once again. Rashad will play Diana Dubois, the mother of another guest star, Taye Diggs.
2. Mariah Carey
Carey will not be deviating far from her pop star roots when she plays Kitty, a superstar songstress who works with Jamal Lyon.
3. French Montana
The rapper is slated to play a character named Vaughn, a music mogul. Vaughn is a friend of Lucious Lyon.
4. Birdman
Birdman will make an appearance in "Empire" season 3 as himself.
5. Sierra McClain
McClain will portray a close friend of another guest star who was introduced last season, Xzibit. McClain will play Nessa, a singer who might get involved with Empire music.
6. Romeo Miller
Miller will step into the "Empire" world as Hakeem Lyon’s rival, Gram. The role originally belonged to Kid Cudi, but Miller ultimately nabbed the spot.
7. Taye Diggs
Diggs will jump from guest star on FOX show "Rosewood" to guest star on "Empire" this season. Diggs will play Angelo Dubois, a city councilman.
