GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Two men are accused of beating and carjacking a woman in Gainesville.
The Gainesville Police Department said a woman drove to her apartment complex just after 7 p.m. Tuesday, got out of the vehicle and was approached by two men.
Police said that the victim didn’t know the men and they asked her to use a phone charger, which she declined.

The victim was jumped from behind by the men and beaten, police said. She was taken to the hospital and suffered contusions to both her elbows and possibly a broken nose.
Witnesses who heard her scream saw the suspects drive off in the victim’s vehicle. One of the witnesses called police and followed the vehicle to a home in the 6006 block of NW 23 Terrace.
GPD found Antonio Roberts, 34, and James Nelson, 24, inside the home and arrested them. Both are charged with carjacking without weapons.
The vehicle found was that of the victims, police said.
