3 people, pets displaced after fire destroys St. Augustine home, officials say

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — St. Johns County Fire Rescue said 3 adults, 2 dogs and a hamster were displaced following an overnight house fire in the Stonehurst Plantation division.

According to St. Johns County Fire Rescue, no one was injured in the fire, but the home suffered extensive damage.

Several units responded to the scene and battled the flames for several hours.

The State Fire Marshal has been called to investigate the initial cause of the fire, which is still unknown.

🔥 Residential Structure Fire 🔥 Last night multiple units responded to the 1300 blk of Ivyhedge Ave (Zone 17) for a residential structure fire. Squad Co. 17 arrived on scene to find a single story house with heavy fire showing from the rear. First due crews made an aggressive interior attack and conducted a primary search for victims. Multiple hose lines were used to bring the fire under control and no victims were located. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the State Fire Marshal.
