Teen shot and killed in Orange Park, two teens arrested

Orange Park, FL — 1/3/2021 Update:

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office is providing new information about a death investigation that began on Sunday. According to a CCSO spokesperson, a 17-year-old boy was shot and killed on a walking path between Morgran Plaza and Clermont Drive South.

After an investigation that involved reviewing witness testimony and surveillance video, the CCSO robbery and homicide detectives determined two persons of interest.

Two 17-year-old’s were picked up for interviews and one of them was arrested and charged with murder. The other 17-year-old was arrested and charged with evidence tampering and accessory to murder.

Due to their age, Action News Jax has chosen not to identify the 17-year-old’s.

The investigation revealed that there was ongoing animosity between the victim and suspects and the shooting was a result of a prior dispute.
