FLORIDA: 1,350 more people test positive for COVID-19

FLORIDA — To provide transparency and clarity regarding COVID-19, the Florida Department of Health launched a COVID-19 Case Dashboard. To keep Florida residents and visitors safe, informed and aware about the status of the virus, officials have created this dashboard that is updated daily.

As of Friday, June 5 at 4 p.m., 1,350 more people have tested positive for COVID-19 in Florida, bringing the total number of cases in the state to 61,488.

A total of 1,135,865 people have tested for the virus and 1,073,452 of those tests were negative.

• 59,993 confirmed cases in Florida residents
• 1,495 cases in non-Florida residents
• There have been 10,794 COVID-19 patients hospitalized
• There have been 2,660 Florida deaths

NORTHEAST FLORIDA CASES:

Baker: 29; no new cases since last update

Bradford: 52; one new case since last update

Clay: 393; minus one case since last update

Columbia: 167; seven new cases since last update

Duval: 1,736; 34 new cases since last update

Nassau: 82; no new cases since last update

Putnam: 172; seven new cases since last update

St. Johns: 270; three new cases since last update

Union: 34; no new cases since last update

The latest number of COVID-19 deaths in Northeast Florida are listed below.

• Columbia: 2
• Duval: 52; one new COVID-19 death reported
• Nassau: 1
• Putnam: 6
• St. Johns: 6
• Union: 1

Note: Florida residents that are diagnosed with COVID-19 and isolated out-of-state are not reflected on the Florida map. The total cases overview includes positive cases in Florida residents and non-Florida residents tested in Florida.

Florida recently partnered with private laboratories around the state to expand COVID-19 laboratory testing capacity. This partnership will increase the number of tests conducted each day and ensure Floridians receive the critical health information they need in a timely manner.

Expansion to private laboratories changes the COVID-19 testing landscape in Florida. Private laboratories will run tests as they receive swab samples from practitioners. Testing and reporting times will vary among commercial and DOH laboratories. Demographic information may be updated during investigations.

To keep Florida residents and visitors safe and aware about the status of the virus, the Department is issuing regular updates as information becomes available.
